Delicious short stories from the author of the bestselling Notes from an Exhibition.
A father makes an unexpected discovery about his son which is too hard for him to cope with. A son wreaks revenge through the power of cookery. A bored wife finds happiness when an old lag teaches her the art of angling. A dog-training lesson with a puppy who hasn't grasped the meaning of 'obedience' leads to the discovery of a murder.
Gordon Griffin
Gordon Griffin has recorded over 500 audio books ranging from Gogol to Chris Ryan from Dickens to Catherine Cookson. Recent recordings include The Sixth Lamentation by William Brodrick, Hotel Babylon by Imogen Ewards-Jones, Play to the End by Robert Goddard, The Stranger House by Reginald Hill and the latest novels of John Harvey, Donna Leon and Chris Ryan.
Gordon has won many awards for his narration, including The Golden Earphone Award 2005 for The Lost Army of Cambyses by Paul Sussman.

Sandra Duncan

Sue Arnold, The Guardian
“Pascal pinpointed the art of short-story writing when he said 'I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead'. No one demonstrates this better than Gale, whose thoroughly English stories about dog shows, church concerts, nervous spinsters, fly fishing and murder are deceptively low-key... but never dull.”
The Daily Express
“Gentleman's Relish is a hugely enjoyable collection which proves that the short story is still very much alive.”

Whole Story Audiobooks has developed a unique system to guide you on the level of explicit content in our audiobooks. The system is applied against our titles to consistently rate levels of explicit language, sex and violence.
We consider not only frequency of content type but also the context: for example, strong language in a humorous setting is different from aggressive use of strong language.
Whilst there will always be subjectivity and different individuals views on this matter, we hope that you will find our content guide useful if these criteria form part of your selection process when choosing your next audiobook.
This recording is unabridged. Typically abridged audiobooks are not more than 60% of the author's work and as low as 30% with characters and plotlines removed.
